Westfield Details More WTC Retail Tenants

World Trade Center retail developer the Westfield Corporation released the largest list of retail tenants to date yesterday for the 350,000 square feet of retail that the international shopping center developer plans to open at the Trade Center complex next fall.

Chef and restaurateur Mario Batali‘s Eataly will serve as the complex’s “culinary anchor,” according to a release, and Australia-based gourmet grocery store Jones the Grocer will make its U.S. debut at the site. The Eataly deal and other assorted tenants have surfaced in various reports over the past year, but the company that bought the WTC retail development rights from the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey for $1.4 billion named new names on Monday.

“Our vision for Westfield World Trade Center is driven by our passionate commitment to culture, commerce and community,” said Greg Miles, Westfield’s U.S. chief operating officer, in a prepared statement. “From the core areas of fashion, dining, beauty, entertainment and technology, our mix is well suited to the dynamic and diverse audiences we will serve including local and nearby residents, professionals and travelers from around the U.S. and the world.”

The complex will line the Santiago Calatrava-designed transportation hub and multi-floor sections of 3 World Trade Center and 4 World Trade Center, and it will certainly offer a lot of new options.

The company didn’t immediately respond to a request for asking rents at Westfield World Trade Center or the various location and square footage measurements for the retailers, but the “retail lineup is nearly complete,” the company said in its release. The site commands asking rents between $400 and $500 square feet, The Wall Street Journal reported over the summer.
